BAR RULES

‘Guy walks into a bar…’

Unless you prefer dive bars, you’ll most likely catch the healthy habits of a good bartender in action at your favorite watering hole. Before we dive into the technical stuff, we must internalize the pure foundation of good service. Whether you’re planning on serving in the industry or making a round for your friends, proper service is always the root of a fantastic cocktail.

Here’s Our Camper’s Code:

  1. Keep it Clean

  • Clean up spills immediately

  • Wash tools right after using them

  • Work on precision while adding ingredients

2. Be Organized

  • Use ingredients you pick up right away

  • Put everything back exactly where/how you found it

  • Take your time.  A solid foundation is more important than a sloppy speedy cocktail

3. Be Professional

  • Wash your hands frequently.

  • Don’t touch your face or hair.

  • No fingers in glass.

  • Hold all glasses at the base, no fingers near the top.

  • Have a consistent place for towels.  No waist tucking!

  • Don’t ever pour on the back bar or into a glass in your hand.

  • Don’t walk and shake

  • Place things gently on counters, on the bar top, in recycling, and in the trash.

    ‘Old habits die hard’
A highly successful bartender has not only learned these, s/he has internalized them.

Now, repeat after me: I (insert name), solemnly swear to follow the Camper’s Code during and after this course
