Day 1 Homework
day one study guide
We’re so happy that you’ve decided to get your hands wet (but hopefully not your computer) in learning the art of mixology. The Cocktail Camp was founded in 2015 by passionate bartenders in San Francisco and has continued to grow because our curriculum, while often tweaked and constantly evolving, has a strong focus on the key fundamentals that make up a skilled bartender, a delicious cocktail, and a happy environment.
Some of our graduates have gone on to bartend at some of the world's finest establishments. In contrast, many others have utilized the course to enrich their understanding of mixology, impress their friends, make new acquaintances, and enhance their appreciation for the finer things in life. Use our online certification course to practice your skills during the week so that you'll be fully prepared once you graduate.
This week, your tasks to master are:
Module 1
- Bar rules: study up on bar rules-they're important if you want to get behind the stick
- Glassware: test yourself on glassware
- Bar Setup: get comfortable with where everything goes
- Bar-Tools: PRACTICE using your tools!
- Ice: chill out and learn about the different types of ice
- Garnishes: PRACTICE cutting garnishes-especially using a peeler
Module 5
- All Whiskey and Brandy drinks
