3 Hibiscus Cocktails You've Been Missing In Your Life

HIBISCUS PUNCH

from: Burma Superstar: Addictive Recipes from the Crossroads of Southeast Asia

First, make hibiscus water by rinsing the hibiscus flowers and soaking for 30 minutes to an hour to soften. Drain well, put in a pot, and cover with the water. Add 1/4 c. sugar and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for approximately 10 minutes, then let sit for about 5 minutes. Put in the fridge until chilled.

Next, in a small bowl muddle:

handful of cilantro

1/2 jalapeno, sliced (or more - to your liking)

Add to bowl:

1/2 cup fresh lime juice

3 tablespoons ginger juice

Mix contents together then pour into a pitcher. Add 12 oz of blanco tequila, the hibiscus water, and more sugar if you want to sweeten it more. Let it chill overnight or for at least 30 minutes in the fridge!

In mixing glass add:

2 oz London Dry Gin

.5 oz Sorel

.5 oz Sweet Vermouth (recommends Carpano)

.5 oz Campari

Stir with ice and strain to a cocktail glass. Garnish with a dehydrated orange.

Prep your tea and glassware first. Boil water and let 1x hibiscus tea packet steep for about 5 minutes. Get your wine glass ready by wetting the side with a lime wedge. Dip the glass into lava salt. Set aside.

In shaker add:

1/2 oz simple syrup

1/2 oz fresh lime juice

1` oz hibiscus tea

2 oz of agave spirit

Shake with ice. Strain to salted glass. Enjoy!
